I guess I am just going to put on some random pictures that I took today.  *Enjoy*

Today the boys went huckleberry picking.  Delicious*

Been thinking about taking this pic for a while.  Something about it . . . not sure what.

Meet "Ms. Harley Bronwyn" and a look at the flower bed

Bronwyn likes to pretend to be on a Harley by sitting on the second thing down on her trike - not on the seat.  Since we got helmets she has started wearing that, too.  So  here's a few pictures so you can see what it's like:)

Too cute.
And . . . I figured I would show a picture of the flower bed when the flowers were just put in, and right now.

A Day at the Park

On August 24th, we, along with Clara, Ramona, Christina, & Charity and their kids, went to Hockinson Park.  We went around 11:30am.  We (the Kulla's) had pbj, chips, juice or pop, and a cookie for lunch.  We had tons of fun.

The ladies visiting after lunch.

Tara, Tamara, Kimberly, Alexa, and Bethany on the circle tilty thing-a-ma-jig . . . not sure what it's called but it's very fun!

Jared and Ramona

Christopher and Megan hiding from the camera (kinda got a pic of them - just not their faces).

All the kids found it exciting to watch the guy clean out the out house apparently.

A view of part of the park from the front side.

There are also swings at the park, farther over to the right of the picture above.  There are great paths for riding bikes, running, or walking.  I would love to be able to bring my bike and ride it there!

Hope all those who came enjoyed their time there!  I know we enjoyed it:)

God's Peace and Love,
Aimee

p.s. Rachel ~ Mom said we were going to your faaaavorite place!  I said it's not necessarily your favorite place ~ I'm pretty sure you would've rather been in NH like you were/are than at Hockinson Park:)  Have an awesome day.

Craft Day / Phoebe's Gift

On August 3rd, we went to Marti's and had a crafting day.  We were making many different types of crafts for Phoebe's Gift.  I'm going to quote some stuff from the invitation we got.

"In June of 2009 our grandbaby Phoebe Kay Somero was born.  A few hours later she was transported to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  She spent several weeks there with the incredibly caring dedicated staff.

We are raising money for a playroom for siblings of the babies being cared for by Sacred Heart's Neonatal Intinsive Care Unit. (in Spokane, WA)

Everyone is invited to spend all or part of the day in Boone and Anne's garden.  Have a good time and please donate generously!

ALL DONATIONS (100%) GO TO THE HOSPITAL.

Let's make life easier for families with babies in the NICU."

Here is a list of what you will be able to do all day, also quoted from the invitation.

Gold Color Challenge #4

So this week is a recipe in the color gold.

I made Ham and Cheese Rolls.  I got the recipe from my aunt Kathy (Seppala).

Raised Refrigerator Biscuits (This is the dough we use and what we got from Kathy ~ You can use whatever kind of roll dough you want)
You can make dough ahead of time and store in the refrigerator several days.  This time, I made the dough a day ahead.

3 packages dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2/3 cup milk
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup mashed potatoes
2 eggs
6 to 7 cups flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.  Scald milk, add butter, and stir until butter melts.  Add sugar, salt, and mashed potatoes; stir until blended and cool.  Beat in eggs and yeast; add flour, 1 cup at a time, to form a stiff dough.  Turn onto floured board and knead until smooth.  {I didn't do this.}  (If dough is not needed right away, store in covered bowl in the refrigerator.  Punch down and knead several times each day it is stored.)

To make the Ham and Cheese Rolls you need:
Roll dough
Chopped pieces of ham
Shredded cheddar cheese (we also used mozzarella in these ones because we had some)

To assemble:
Flatten a lump of dough to a thin roundish shape and put a good pinch each of cheese and ham in the middle.

Fold the sides up and pinch together forming a ball.  Put seam side down on a greased cookie sheet and let rise.

Bake at 365* for about 20 minutes (depending on size) {ours cooked 3-5 mins shorter than that.}

The end result ~ deliciousness!!!

Some of them.

All of them ~ I think it made 65:)  I made one batch of dough.

Mom made Plain Muffins with cinnamon sugar on top.  She thought they looked golden when they were dipped in butter, before the cinnamon sugar was on:)

Tara made meringue cookies.

And Rachel is off enjoying her stay in New Hampshire ~ {Are you going to make the cinnamon rolls you told us you were going to make this week?}  If you read this Rachel . . . you better get at it.  Ha ha ha!  Enjoy your stay ~ see you in a week:)

Fabric Covered Notebook

So I decided I wanted to make a notebook cover out of this fabric, so I made it yesterday!  I love it ~ the colors (I LOVE bright colors like this!) and how it turned out:)  There are a few things I will change when I make some more, but mostly I will make it the same.

The front of the notebook ~  I just did a simple ruffle on the front of this notebook.

The inside covers are the same on both sides ~ the fabric and the design.  I did the main smiley face fabric as the lining and the fabric I used for the ruffle for the pockets.

This is the place where I'd change something.  The inside lining sleeve doesn't go all the way to the paper ~ I wouldn't mind if the background was plain white, but since it has writing on it, I'd like for it to be all the way covered.  Next time I'll make the lining piece 1" - 1 1/2" wider so it'll cover the writing on the inside cover.

The back is just the smiley face fabric ~ nothing fancy:)

View of the notebook kind of from the top.

View of the ruffle on the front.
I'm going to the park this morning and Huckleberry picking tonight!  Fun day ~ Hope you all have as fun a day as I'm planning on having!  Keep on crafting:)

God's Peace and Love,
Aimee

p.s. Thought I'd show you this pic I took ~ it was taken on August 20th in the evening.

I think it's pretty . . .

And Forrest standing in front of it . . . part of it almost looks like Forrest was photoshopped out of a picture and put into this one . . . it really is an original photo:)

Good - bye, Good - bye!
