SNOW!!!

So our first snow of the year was on Wednesday night.  We woke up to the snow melting and got home from school and it was gone.  However, I heard that Forrest got to play in the snow even though it wasn't very much.  We were pretty excited!

This is our front yard

And this is the cars

So now for today.  Dad and Clayton went up to the mountains and rolled 3 big snowballs.  They brought them home and then Clayton and I made a snowman.  He decided since he had helped roll the snowballs that he should get a picture with it by himself.  He also decided it was snowing, hence the snow on the hat.  He decided he wanted to use his hat (he just took it off his head).  The last thing we decided was since the rocks wouldn't stay in for the mouth it would have a toothy grin!  So who else got snow yet?

Delicious Food + Recipes!

We'll start out with a couple of types of wraps.

The first kind is the Ranch Chicken Wraps. They're soooo delicious!

Ranch Chicken Wraps

Ingredients:
1 1/4 pound skinless boneless chicken breasts (thawed, but uncooked)
1/4 cup Taco Seasoning Mix
Pam vegetable cooking spray
about 1/3 cup ranch
6 Flour tortillas
lettuce, sliced (recipe I used called for 3 cups but I just used however much looked good)
diced tomatoes (again, recipe called for 3 cups, and I used what looked good)
Ranch to drizzle on top

Directions:
Slice the chicken into 1/4" shreds. Place in a mixing bowl; toss with taco seasoning mix.

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. When hot, spray with Pam. Add chicken and cook through. Add about half the sauce and let cook to heat through.

To assemble, divide chicken, lettuce, and tomatoes among the tortillas. Drizzle with desired amount of ranch and roll up.

Note: These tend to be very messy, but also very delicious:)

Now, the second type of wrap is the BLT Wrap. Yumminess:)

Sorry my pic is the wrong way - turned it but now can't get it to load on again:(

BLT Wrap Recipe

On a flour tortilla, place 1/4 cup shredded lettuce, sprinkle tomatoes and cut up bacon on top; pour 2 tablespoons ranch over this, top with cheese and roll up like a burrito.

Note: I cut up our bacon and cooked it and then divided it among the amount of tortillas we were using; I didn't measure it like the directions said. Also, for the lettuce and ranch, I just used however much looked good.

Now for a delicious dessert, I bring to you the Caramel Apple Cake!

My picture of this won't load on and it wasn't very good anyway, soo . . . if you want to see the picture, and since the recipe is pretty long, I don't want to put it all on here, then go here to see the recipe and the pic.

Note: I use more caramels and apples than the recipe calls for.
This cake is sooo delicious and I think I should go make some right now:)

Black Color Challenge #2

This week Aimee and I did a craft with black.  Mine is a little bag that can be used for a little cosmetic bag or to store something in a bigger bag . . . or whatever you can dream up to use it for:)

Aimee made a fabric notebook cover.  She will be selling these at our bazaar in Amboy on December 4th.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  I need to get back to my sewing:)

Orange challenge #4

So I really did get it made on time but I totally forgot about it until I just now saw that it had been uploaded.
I made an orange julius.  These things are very addicting and they taste so good.

This is the orange I used in the recipe.

Free Holiday Cards from Shutterfly!

Ok - so here we go!  This is awesome.  Shutterfly has the coolest Christmas cards.

There are many, many awesome Christmas cards you can get, but these are a few that I think are pretty cute:)

The Sweet Scalloped Frame Christmas Card. I really like the scallop around the edges and how the writing overlays the picture. I think this would be a really good photo card using the black and white photo like it shows it.

Man, I think this one is darling! It's the Full of Love Christmas Card.  I think this is sooo darling. Yeah, I already did say that, but I really do think it is:) I like how the picture covers the whole card, and the writing overlays the photo.  It looks really neat!

You can find the above cards here.

Another card I think is pretty cute is this one:

It's an opening card - one you can write on in the inside. I think I really like how the writing and pictures are placed . . . and the font of the writing. So cute!
And then in the inside of the card, you can put photos and personalized writing.

This card and other holiday story cards can be found here.

And then there's the religious holiday cards.

One I really like is the Oh Holy Night Religious Christmas Card.

I don't know if I'd actually use the black card, but it is a really cute design, how it all looks together.

Another one I like is the Christ Is King Religious Christmas Card.

I like the angel design and the bright red of the card.

You can find more Religious Holiday Cards here.

“Shutterfly is offering 20% off all holiday cards”

You can find there cards and stationary here.

Okay ~ now for the free cards. I found this deal on Tatertots and Jello, which is an awesome crafty blog, where you can find all kinds of awesome ideas and you can enter tons of giveaways, although I haven't suceeded at winning yet:) I found this post, where I found out that if you click on the link there that says "Click here to go to Shutterfly." So I clicked there and found out that if you blog about Shutterfly, I guess, then you got a coupon code sent to you for 50 free cards. Shipping & Handling applies, but it's worth it when you even it out because your cards are free. So, if you want to get free cards, which is an awesome deal, go to the Tatertots and Jello post and do what it says. It is an awesome deal and that's why we're doing it!
